Hens' party with Sydney Bellydancer Rachel

All smiles at this fun bridal shower.

It’s the perfect solution for bridesmaids wanting ideas for a dear girlfriend’s hens night or bridal shower – and yes, it can be a surprise! The bride-to-be will be made to feel special, and might even learn a few moves. Choose the glamorous option including a performance as well, and you are sure to fall in love with the elaborate costuming.

“It was wonderful – music, fun, giggles, and a great way to kick off my hens night! Rachel was fantastic, and I’d do it again in a flash.”
~ Bride-to-be Suzie

Looking for a performance, a lesson, or both?

For the more adventurous, a Belly Dancing lesson might be just the thing to keep all the girls entertained at your hens’ party. You will be dressed up with jingling hip scarves, learn some moves and either put them into a short choreography, or learn to dance in social contexts such as an Arabic wedding. Rachel is an experienced teacher who will ensure your hens’ party is fun, unique and exotic!

We may even be able to help with dance studio hire if you don’t have a suitable venue. We are also happy to come to your home, a private room in a restaurant, or an apartment where you are hosting the party.

You don’t need to wait for someone to be getting married: it’s fun entertainment for any girls’ night, for unique party experiences, exotic-themed events, or even as a team-building activity for workplaces with predominantly female staff, such as childcare centres.

Colourful coin hip scarves are provided.

Cultural context, or fun fantasy?

The dance lesson or show is tailored to your needs.

  • If you’re planning an Arabic wedding, this is your opportunity to learn or improve your dance skills and prepare to burn up the dance floor. We can teach you the typical social dance steps in Egyptian or Lebanese styles, including the Dabke line dance, and how to feel confident when the DJ drops “Shik Shak Shok”.

  • In Arabic, Indian and Turkish cultures, a women-only Kitchen Tea or the more traditional Henna Night (or Indian mehendi ceremony) is a pre-wedding custom that will be more exciting when you engage a professional dancer to enhance the party. A performance is also suitable for Moroccan Jewish and Sephardic Henna ceremonies, where there may be a mixed audience. More covered costuming is available if you prefer.

  • If you’re not Middle Eastern, you might simply enjoy the feminine energy of Oriental Dance! A lesson, with or without the performance component, is always a fun activity for your hens’ afternoon or bachelorette party. Guaranteed to make you feel sensual and feminine, the lesson will have everyone strutting and shimmying like Shakira in no time.
